Propulsion of ships using LNG or other low-flashpoint fuels
Aarhus- and Fredericia School of Marine and Technical Engineering offer a certified course in propulsion of ships using LNG or other low-flashpoint fuels.
LNG or other low-flashpoint fuels Advanced training is compulsory for crew members responsible for designated safety duties associated with the care, use, or in emergency response to the fuels on board ships subject to the IGF Code (STCW code table A-V/3-1and IMO’s guideline MSC.1/Circ 1621).

Target group
Crew members with the task of ensuring safe use of LNG or other low-flashpoint fuels or intervening in the case of incidents. This includes crew members on ships subject to the IGF Code (International Code of Safety for Ships using Gases or other low-flashpoint fuels).
Requirements
Those undertaking the course should be STCW management level certified officers or pre-qualified through basic gas tanker safety endorsements/ certifications.
Accreditation
The LNG or other low-flashpoint Advanced training fulfils the standard in accordance with the STCW code table A-V/3-1and IMO’s guideline MSC.1/Circ 1621.
Duration
4 days inclusive of ½ day firefighting training. Participants already in possession of the Basic training only 2 days.
